This product stated that it updated Magellan GPS units. It only worked on Roadmate and I have a Maestro. Had to return.

Magellan has made updating maps a very easy process by putting them on a SD card. I made sure the GPS had the latest operating system installed and then plugged the SD card in and turned it on. Presto, map update worked perfectly. Could not have been easier. A great way to disseminate this information.

I can only review the first 2 parts. THe installation was pretty easy but you must update your GPS software before doing the map update. One MAJOR point is that the instructions say you know the update has been successful when it ask you to enter your region.

THis never happened for me. I had to take the map card out reboot and find the map information section to see the #’s for the maps originally were on the unit. Turn it off install the new card and turn it on and reset using the reset button then check the map information to see that the #’s did change.

Other then that it was easy enough. I am pretty good with techy stuff so i was only slightly annoyed but some of the older generation might have to call the tech support to figure this out.

Even though I purchased my Magellan from Amazon and then purchsed the Map Update Card from Amazon, I receive an “Incompatible” message when I insert the card. Returned for refund.
